Prescriptions

You can request a repeat prescription in a number of different ways:

  • Use the NHS App – This is the simplest and easiest way to order your repeat medication.
  • Order your request using Patient Access You need to register to use our online repeat prescription ordering service. Please speak to one of our receptionists.
  • In person – Complete the right-hand section of your previous prescription form and post your request in the prescription box situated next to the entrance, or you may hand your request to a member of staff.
  • Send it to us by post – When ordering by post, please allow an additional two working days for first-class carriage via the postal service. If you enclose a stamped addressed envelope, your prescription will be returned to you. Again please allow an additional two working days for return.

If you prefer, we can post it back to you (you will need to provide a stamped, addressed envelope).

Please note we DO NOT take prescription orders over the phone.

When will my prescription be ready?

For all prescription requests, please allow 2 working days for this to reach your nominated pharmacy.   Prescription requests submitted after 12pm may not be processed until the next working day, so please plan accordingly when ordering your medication.

When can I re-order my medication?

We have no control over the wait times for collections of medications from the pharmacies, but we do allow you to re-order your medication in advance (7-10 days prior to running out) to allow for this.

What if I am due for a medication review?

We are keen to ensure that patients with ongoing medical problems are monitored regularly. If the date for your next review with a doctor or nurse has passed, you will be asked to make an appointment.  Please do so as soon as possible to avoid any disruption to the re-ordering of your medications.
