There is a “call and recall” system to remind you about smear tests which are carried out by appointment with the Practice Nurses.
Currently, women aged 25-49 years are recalled every 3 years for routine tests, or as directed by the laboratory analysing the tests.
As of 1st July 2025, the routine recall for women aged 25-49 is changing from 3 to 5 years, for those who are low risk. This change applies only to screening done on or after 1st July 2025. Nothing else is changing; therefore if it is recommended that you are followed up sooner, then this will still be the case.
Women aged between 50-64 years will be recalled every 5 years.
During the months of January-March 2025, there will be a Living Well Bus Cervical Screening Bus available for all eligible patients to attend. This is a walk in service – no appointment needed.
